Following a routine visit to the Doctors in 2017 Claire was diagnosed with stage 2 Cervical Cancer. As expected, the unwelcome news brought immediate changes to Claire’s professional and personal life. A mother of 3, Claire was now faced with the gruelling schedule of numerous hospital visits and trying to understand how the changes would affect her life.   Determined to minimise the upheaval in her life, Claire managed to continue with her role as a nursery nurse teacher at Park primary school, a role which she loves and has done for 15 years.

Claire dedicates most of her time to her husband and 3 children and was delighted to welcome her 1-year-old grandson (Matthew) into the world last year, Claire loves nothing more than spending quality time with Matthew.   It was Claire’s lifelong friendship with Nicola which opened the doors for Claire to become involved with the group, and as a result has allowed Claire to focus on the challenges required to make WWAC a stronger and prominent group within our community.
