Following my first routine mammogram I was diagnosed at 53 in January 2022 with Grade 3 mixed ductal/lobular cancer + extensive DCIS.  I was treated with wide local excision, then further cavity shave op due to lateral margins and radiotherapy.  I  live in Newton Stewart and work for the NHS.  I have a daughter Gemma and two grandchildren Robbie 9 and Amery 7.  I felt inspired to volunteer with WWAC having seen my friend volunteer after her diagnosis.  I enjoy crochet, reading, crafting and spending time with family.
