THANK YOU PHILIP MILLER

Philip was a well known face in Stranraer from his days at the George Hotel to more recently his one man and his dog, in his community fundraising role.

He became a regular fixture in the town centre over the past few years as he sat in his scooter with his wee dog collecting for local causes, chatting eagerly to passers by.

Philip had heard about us through A Listening Ear (Penny Halliday) another local service.

We thankfully fitted his very explicit criteria of a local grass roots charity he offered to carry out his 10 week long charity collection to boost our funds in 2022 and so began our relationship with Philip.

He had a defined strategy which included covering any legal requirements to raise funds, signage for the front of his scooter and agreed dates when one of our volunteers would meet with him to count the funds and bank them.

We sadly never got the opportunity to meet Philip and count the proceeds due to his passing.  Philip's sister Susan contacted us to ask if we could collect the money he had raised for WWAC.

We are delighted and humbled to say Philip raised £263 in just a few weeks.

Philip we thank you.

May you rest in peace and keep being "Scooter Man"
