Why We Go Gold

In 1997, a group of parents of children impacted by cancer chose gold to represent childhood cancer. Thus, the gold ribbon! Ever since then, supporters around the world Go Gold to represent childhood cancer warriors and heroes.

People are aware of breast cancer and the pink ribbon and prostate cancer with the figure of a man logo, but it’s almost like with childhood cancer people cant’t face it. They turn off.

As sad as it is, we need to talk about it because that leads to awareness, which leads to research which will hopefully lead to kinder treatments.

WWAC have placed this small bike in the Garden's of Friendship, at the memorial tree, which they planted in 2019 for World Cancer day.
